Restoring an old control room.

Got a cool story, so I and my pals frequent an old steel mill that's abandoned. I have property drawings of the place on my wall and draws full of EPA and Company documents. It's fair to say I'm a little obsessed. So for awhile, we've wanted to access this one room, it is on the second story of the VAR (vacuum Arc Remelt) building, which is one of the moderately sized buildings on site, but the ladder was cut off and the stairs were removed as well, so a couple of days ago my friend saw something, he has a good eye and randomly started climbing up pipes, so I followed suit and we got up there, now we expected it to be an office but it was much, much better. It was the damned control room! For the VAR furnaces! Most of the panels were ripped out and on the ground and it was trashed, so we did what any steel mill kid would do.. we went and found an old broom and coal shovel and cleaned it up! We kept the desk's lockers and chairs inside and put the panels back into place! Now it's our hangout spot, we have padlocks on the door to keep vandals out and there are padlocks on our lockers which we keep things like our medkits and hardhats in, also some marker flags. Also by the way, ever wanted to gain access to an EPA Superfund site without concerned neighbors harassing you? Just wear white hardhats and work pants! This worked like a charm, we had people stop and thank us for finally cleaning the site up, now we never said we were EPA workers! We just nodded and that did the trick. Gotta love hardhats!

I ran through that place only once for like 30 minutes. It just seemed so beat to shit. I guess I should have given it a little more attention. Nice find.

Not quite sure if we are talking about the same mill, but if we are we can show you some of the best spots, we've found a lot of neat stuff in there. You just have to climb things to find where the vandals can't reach

A picture is worth more than a couple paragraphs.
At least here.
