Visited an abandoned Boy Scout camp yesterday in the Bay Area. This place has been on my list for a while and was finally able to hit it up. It supposedly closed in the late '80s although I saw paperwork from as recent as '99 in one of the buildings. Not sure if it was used as something else after the camp closed but if anybody has any info on this place I'd love to know!

Here's a couple iPhone shots until I get the photos from my camera edited and exported.

The chapel building.

The kitchen in the chapel.

A shack on the way to the main site.

An overview of the chapel.

The caretaker's house. This building was originally the home of the original land owners before they donated the property to the Boy Scouts.

An old phone and electricity panel in the warehouse.

A 80's rotary phone... well aged but not aging well.

Amazing how much that place has been trashed in the past 12 years since I visited it first.

It’s pretty sad. It’s turned into a popular place among teenagers who go to smoke weed or cause damage to the property. I ran into the sheriff on the way back to my car and he told me the neighbors call in any suspicious parked cars near the camp to avoid these problems. Luckily I had my camera out so he assumed I was just exploring and getting some shots, but vandalism seems to be prevalent here.

Definitely want to go back and check out some of the other buildings I missed before the county decides to tear it down (or before the kids burn it down).

That seems to be the norm these days. There's photos in the location DB of what the place used to look like back in 2007. Even than it was fairly trashed. Surprised the County still hasn't done anything with it yet...even if only demolition.

Here’s a comparison photo I found on here from 2007 to today.

And the next time I go back I plan on doing exact comparison photos. Grabbing the ones from 2007-2009 that are on the site and replicating then as best as I can.

I went to this camp as a Cub Scout and find these picture quite depressing. The camp managed to stay mostly intact for 20 years and was frequent party spot. I wonder what kind of people are visiting now.
