Visiting New York City

I’ll be in NYC this Sunday and was wondering if anyone would like to meet up? I’ve been struggling to find spots and it seems (aside from tunnels) NYC doesn’t like keeping buildings abandoned. If anyone is interested in a meetup on 12/23 pm me. I can send links/photos to verify

Most of the spots I’ve found have been renovated/aren’t accessible anymore. Subway tunnels are more of a last resort as you are given a felony for that

That's because those of us who are digging up the spots in the city tend to keep them to ourselves. Theres plenty around. Just gotta really dig.

I suppose that’s fair, I kind of forgot that New York is much bigger. We’re a pretty tight community in Cleveland so we just generally swap spots

What essexplorer said is true, although there is one VERY popular spot on long island that isn't super far.

Many places are do-able but high profile/take time to figure out how to access. Honestly, depends how much you want it.

I would recommend checking out the "High Line Park" Built on a section of abandoned elevated rail line on the west side. Stunning...

Yeah, most of us Northeast folks have been around long enough to know better. If we swapped spots around out here everything would get ruined so fast. Thats probably why Vizoe and others have such an easy time shitting up spots with lame tags out your way.

The "community" around here is getting so bad that I've been focusing more time on here lately. Just in the past week I've been added against my will to an exploring group by some nut who later tried to steal all our credit card info, watched people threaten to call the police on each other because they are mad at the other person for seeing a location first, and have been trolled by people who have nothing better to do than make fake accounts to bother an account I help run on social media. People here will literally destroy a location so nobody else can go and get the "feature" on Instagram. That's why we are more cautious and secretive. Just adding to the point Essex made. As far as NYC, hopefully you saw something because there's plenty of great things within the 5 boroughs.

Some of the best exploring I’ve done has been in NYC but it isn’t advertised. Only way to really find out what it has is to ask locals.

The old saying 'loose lips sink ships' is never more appropriate. Fuck Vizoe and those who enable the shittest tagger in the whole north eastern area to get to decent spots.

I highly disagree with your words. NYC subway houses some of the most exciting places. Especially if they're ones that you gotta work for to get, especially the out-of-reach and highly unknown places. You just gotta know what's doable and how to navigate the extremely risky, if it's feasible.

😉

I've lived in the city for about a year now and honestly its easier to just do rooftopping rather than trying to find something abandoned. Theres a few places.

Yes, and it is near this amazing sculpture called the Vessel. I'm not going to give away the location, but you may be able to find it with some digging.
