White house in the woods (built in 1906)

Finally got out to the abandon house today that I visited about 5 years ago.

Last time I visited the house was intact well except for the candles on the banister and a pentagram from rituals up stairs. This trip was somewhat saddening. Most of the walls are gone and vandalized, the floors are riddled with holes (almost gave way in a few places while walking), the roof in the rear maid quarters is collapsing in, and all the windows and doors have been heavily vandalized since my last visit.

This house was constructed in 1906 and has been vacant since at least the 1960's as I do notice some newer things but still absolutely NO air conditioning was ever installed.

We could not fully explore the home due to a squatter(s), I noticed their books and clothes upon arrival and decided to begin in the back of the house and work my way up to the front then potentially up stairs depending on if anyone was in the house. As I neared the front rooms in the main house I heard a loud thud above me and made for the front door, upon exiting I looked into the upstairs window debating going up or calling out to see if someone was in the house currently and to let them know I was just snapping some photos (saw clothes and books as seen in some pictures along with a little setup outside the house as well.); when I originally walked out of the house I could look down a trail leading to a sidewalk along the main road which a man was walking on looked older and not homeless so no big deal since he was on the sidewalk 500' away, after looking up at the top windows for a minute or so debating my next move I glanced behind me and saw the man from the sidewalk about 100' away coming down the trail towards me, made a bolt through the woods back to the car as I did not want to take any chances and the upstairs looked heavily vandalized as well so no big loss there. All I can think is he had a partner upstairs that heard me and made the thud and contacted this man somehow who may have been squatting as well. Anyways made it back to the car and left.

I hope you all enjoy the photos that I managed to get while I was there (sorry no upstairs due to the need for a speedy exit).

Nice first exploring post! The place looks pretty cool from the outside but no so much on the inside. I bet it was pretty cool 5 years ago but not so much anymore. Interesting story with the squatters, that must've been a little scary.

Thank you! It still had some damage 5 years ago but nothing like it is now, all the walls were still in great shape and the fireplace was not busted as well. Between squatters and hurricanes it has taken a major beating, I also remember there being some light fixtures on my visit years ago as well. The noise upstairs definitely had me more alert but when I saw the man walking down the trail I knew it was time to go, he looked harmless from a distance but I still try to not take chances when it comes to potential squatters and it's just me.

Thank you, it was probably the most photo worthy thing I found in the house and the lighting was great in there.

Thank you, I always like to put a recap of how the trip went with the photos and info to explain some of the details and stuff that happens at the location.

The house is on about 2 acres and owned by a property company according to the records and is valued at somewhere around 450k, it's really not a bad little spot.

Thank you, they are definitely weird with the things they decide to destroy and how they go about it, the walls are what gets me the most because they are not broken or ripped open by people trying to scrap (save for maybe a wall I saw through the upstairs window when I was outside that looked completely gone), they are just busted and ruined and panted over... anyways it is a very tranquil spot and pretty well hidden from most sides, whatever squatters are in it have a really nice spot.
