That one isn't working for me.
I get the concept but the execution fell apart.

I really liked this room quite a bit and wanted to capture it. This is in a basement of a factory and there is very little light coming in despite how it looks. I forgot the batteries to my external light this day so that made it difficult, not that i use that much anyway. Those glasses where just laying there, i didn't movie anything.

The only thing that i wish i was able to achieve better would be for everything to be in focus.

ISO: 1,000
Aperture: 6.3
shutter: 30 sec

It's a great room and more difficult than it looks.
Unfortunately the cam doesn't have as wide of a dynamic range as the human visual system.

Pan back from your centerpiece, and try other compositions/angles.
f/5.6 iso 400-800 might work better.
If you grab a crisp, well lined up image you can always crop it.

There is not a lot going on in the top half of the frame. The interest for me is the mask and the wheel on the right. They are both just a little too low in the frame for me.

I'll go back and see what i can do. I have a 100mm macro/telephoto lens, maybe that could flatten it out to get more of what i see in my head. I don't like how out of focus the background is. Id like to pull the foreground and background together. This room doesn't really have a lot of working room either, it's pretty tight.

It may not be showing through but there are tons of wheels, knobs and gauges in the upper part of the frame.

I personally like it. I like the rhythm of all the lines in the shot. Panned down slightly to get less ceiling would make it “bigger,” but I think it’s a good, compelling shot.

I think I see what you're going for and I like it, but if you could reshoot it it would probably be better. Seeing your settings, I bet it was a really hard place to shoot. I would personally use a much wider lens, move in and down and shoot at maybe f11. The wide angle lens will keep more in focus, plus the f11 helping. I think that while the wide angle would separate the room more, shooting from closer and slighty underneath the mask would give a slightly more extreme look and dramatize the room some.

Kinda like what I did here. The wide angle make slight tilts skew the image a bunch. I tilted it back just enough to keep the trees relatively straight but make the rest of the building look taller.

Hope this makes sense.

What if i pulled back and did some focus stacking? if memory serves me i may not be able to pull back. I think my back was already to the wall but i don't remember. The widest i have is a 24mm and thats what i used. I do need to go back, id like to make this work.

I've never tried focus stacking but it seems pretty cool, especially with crazy macro stuff. If you try it definitely post it here.
