Yeah, I'm way late on this...

JANUARY
Abandoned, historic movie theater torn down several months later. Power was still on at the time of my visits, one night I kicked on the marquee for the last time.

FEBRUARY

Partially-abandoned hospital with only the ground-floor ER that was in the process of winding-down, and the still-active psych ward on 3 operating. The facility had just been sold... days later it rebranded and became strictly a psych ward on the third floor, which is eventually destined to move into a remodeled building on the property. This historic part of the complex's fate will then be decided. The odds aren't in its favor.

Some of these are film, this was my first field test of my 6x9 camera based on the Polaroid 600SE (a neutered Mamiya Press). As the year went on it grew on me more and more.

And finally: abandoned top floors of a tarnished, once world-famous department store. These floors have been sold and are in the process of being gutted for conversion into a mixed-use development, while a downsized retail operation continues below. Unfortunately very photo-light due to active security and spending most of the time finding a way out undetected.

You had a good year, it looks like. I love a lot of your photos, but the one that stands out the most is the one of the flies. Nasty. Love it.

Really great year! Hell yeah! I'll have to say, all's are one of the lamest American landmarks ever. I am so happy every one that closes down.

You have some of the cooler abandoned mall shots I've seen. Great exposure all over this set.

Super super cool. #79 was my favorite. Love the work you did with the roofing of the mall, gorgeous set. Thanks for sharing all of this!

51 was my favorite... the modern design has an appeal to it.

You've been busy! Great work - 58/59/74 are some of my favs. There is a local mall that I've been tossing around if it's worth checking out or not - these convinced me to go, so thanks for that too!

Nice work/collection! The church/school has been on my list forever. Sounds like I better give her a drive-by. Hope it's not too late!

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.

Great stuff all around...the kind of 'very good year' Sinatra would've been singing about had he been an explorer. These look like some sweet sites, the photography is excellent, and the hospital shots have me drooling 😍! Those flies are freaky; especially the one in the mid-left that looks like it has a long hair growing out of (or stuck to) it.

Great photos! Loved seeing the Northridge photos. Wish I would have seen it in that condition, it looks nothing like that as of now. Vandals have done a hell of a number on the place!

Flippin' amazing! I couldn't pick a favourite if I tried. These locations look like movie sets in how stereotyically "abandoned" they all look. What an outstanding collection of photos.
