Hello there, I have been monitoring this juvenile facility for as long as i can remember and have had zero luck, no chance in hell and Absolutely pissed i have not yet been able to access the spot, well i did once get pass the first fence an was able to walk around but the state is keeping this place clean, like zero rust, no broken windows once in a while a landscaping crew comes an cuts the grass. there is security an Ive been able to talk to the guards once in a while to try a persuasive approach to let me walk around inside for like an hour but always get turned away, so why am I posting here on the main, I am looking for any info on how to access correctional facility, different ideas, methods an above all just any help. As far as i know im like the second person to at least get close enough to walk around past the first fence.

Are you sure it's abandoned? Doesn't sound like it to me. I also wouldn't bother asking the security if it's a correctional facility.

Its a surplus state property, was closed in early 2010 used once in a while as a makeshift homeless center during the winters, other then that it just sits there

There, there.
I know how you feel.
My smartphone screen is sticky and just lame ass threads that don't justify getting my finger sticky to post on them.

Facilities that are of an age and condition that they could be reused as either their intended purpose or for a closely related purpose tend to remain watched. You literally mention that it’s levied as a shelter periodically which means that it’s used. I know of at least two detention centers that fit this description in my state. By my assessment I’d say you found an use as needed facility rather than an abandoned one. There’s spots with similar conditions that I’ve had on my watch list for years. Sometimes they become explores. Some are still on my list and I check on them periodically. Don’t let it become a white whale 🙄

I have one of these in my sights now.

A completely unused facility (no snow removal at all last winter) that's part of a reform school. Kind of out in the open and right across the street from the still active part of the Snicklefritzen Haus.

You say it's sometimes used as a makeshift homeless shelter?

Seems like that's your way in then... when it's open for that, grow a beard, go a few days without showering, wear dirty clothes, pack a large bag full of old clothes or something to make it look full, and waltz on in.

Nope, never tried that one. Had cops called on me at active sites because I was mistaken for a hobo before though :/

Maybe you should be expected to live with homeless people for a few days if you do that. Do your research first. Or you could volunteer, help the community and explore a spot.
