The only problem with that is knowing when the meetups occur- most meetups don't seem to be posted to UER. I'd love to attend another meetup, if only I knew when the next one is. But OP, you're in a good city for this hobby- MSP has one of the biggest urban explorer communities in North America, though it is also known as one of the most tight knit. As a result of the city constantly sealing cool places, they tend to guard information carefully and be extremely wary of outsiders, if only out of sheer necessity. That being said, the explorers from MSP that I've met have been very nice people and responsible explorers once you get to know them. EDIT: Also, don't bother with Instagram. Many of the serious explorers I've met don't even have a UER account, much less Youtube or Instagram- and if they are on UER, they only pop in occasionally. Those tend to be the long time, serious explorers who make up the core of the community. Follower count doesn't determine trustworthiness- it only means they are less likely to show discretion.
| Thanks for all the info! That’s pretty much along the lines from what I was reading about this community and city. Hella excited to learn more about it too

Thanks for the Welcome! And I’ll absolutely try and stick around to build up a record of adventurous doings and repertoire of nefarious whatnots. I don’t expect to be handheld in this all, and hope that I can eventually actually back that statement up with proof to you all And admittedly when I originally moved up here, I was a bit of a scardy cat about being female and alone at night in the city. (Didn’t grow up in a big metropolitan area), but by now I’ve spent way too many nights prowling the dark by myself to worry about being a girl by myself. I’m not scared of things that go bump in the night, and if anything I probably have more of a problem with being over confident. About that sound judgement tho… yeah that could be better lol. Kinda why I’m trying to solo less. About six months ago I fell pretty far down onto concrete when I was on my way down from rooftopping by myself and some scaffolding buckled. My wrists banged against some plywood, I lost my grip, and ended up breaking some bones. Ended up hobbling to a different area away from where I fell and got someone to call an ambulance for me. Lmao I spent the whole ride trying to explain to paramedics that I got that messed up falling down some stairs near where I called them. That’s my “official” story from that night. People who know me think I actually have some weird incompetence with stairs because of all the “stair related” injuries… It’s just such a convenient, short explanation lol. Not trying to gain sympathy, just explaining my occasional idiocy
| You are welcome Kudos on your hobble out rather than panicking and calling for a rescue. You did well. Sorry to hear about the injuries though. When falling if possible always try to use a hip/shoulder roll; don't extent your hands but allow your hip then your shoulder to absorb the impact. Tuck in your elbows by your side, hands across your midsection. Never land on your elbow as it can easily dislocate your shoulder. Hold your head up as you come down; do not relax your neck muscles however allow the rest of your body to fall in a relaxed manner. It may seem counter intuitive but done right you won't even be bruised. I rode with clipless pedals on bikes for years and occasionally when balancing at a stop lost it. I would do this roll keeping my hands on the bars without injury. Practice this roll so it becomes second nature to you. In a complicated and/or cluttered environments this may not be possible to do safely. Small steps are best on unknown terrain. Review my Hellholes thread and learn the easy way how to avoid them. https://www.uer.ca...=1&threadid=122644 Avoid night sploring whenever practical. Use it only if necessary. Predawn sites that are hard to access but doable in daylight. Leave after dark if need be. Falls and structural collapses are the #1 hazards of exploring. Darkness makes them much harder to spot especially if you can't use a torch. Even with a good flashlight your ability to move safely is impaired. If it seems like a bad idea, bug out and live to splore another day... This site is easy as pie or hard as you make. Post pics, continue to participate in threads here and you will do well.

| | | Posted by Archangels Hey! This is my first post here so apologies for any protocol breach. I've officially only known about the urbex community for a couple years, and only begun to really spend much time researching urbex sites before visiting for maybe a year. However, I've been climbing up to rooftops, and wandering the forgotten, desolate, and off limits for as long as I can remember. Previously, I had a few friends I could usually call on to go exploring with me, but I moved up to Minneapolis a couple years ago, and now I am finding it a lot harder to find people to go exploring with. My main buddy recently dipped out on any real exploring trips due to legal concerns with the pastime. I don't think it is particularly advisable to loudly look for UE cohorts, and the few people who I know that I would trust to be discrete and- realistically- athletic enough to come with me, well, they have no idea why anyone would want to do this. I scout out enough sites on my own, and often go exploring by myself which I don't mind except for the fact that I do possess a small desire for self preservation, and recent injuries by myself have made me even more wary of soloing it. So in conclusion to that ramble, I really want to find some ppl in Minneapolis to explore the more risky places with but I am having no luck with finding people. (and I've been looking for around a year now) How do you all deal with this? Did many of you meet on places like this, or just have more adventurous friends than me?
| Welcome to UER I'm around minneapolis locations quite frequent during the warmer seasons, feel free to private message me on here if you ever need another dude to get into shenanigans with!
