If anybody has any info on this last urbex location please PM me details. I'm thinking about checking it out. It looks abandoned but I'm too nervous to go in.

10 is a pretty nice shot, I like it.

14 though, that does not look like a particularly inviting house.

You definitely missed out on 20. I bet you could've gotten some unique, never before seen shots there.

But in all seriousness, this album captures the general vibes of Gary pretty well without relying heavily on the iconic locations from there.

Number 1 and 11 are really cool!

I really like those houses in Number 1. Last year, someone did a mural on the pink house.

Really cool shots. I'm a big fan of 14 and 11. Gotta appreciate 8 though because I love little places like that, it really captures the things that make small town places home.

They say I gotta respect the system, but there ain't no respect in that system for me.

🙏🏻

After years of hitting up the same locations, I've decided to criss cross the city and focus on areas that don't get a lot of attention from urban explorers. I had never really been around the area south of Ridge Road. My next trip will focus more on that.

I also really do enjoy shooting in the winter. The drab overcast conditions really help make this subject matter.

Overcast days are definitely good for urbex. Also makes for a nicer drive (no blinding sunlight during sunrise/sunset).

Out of curiosity, have you ever ran into any problems with the locals here? I know some of the abandoned schools I've been to that are farther away from the main city have had a surprising number of people just walking around outside. I've never ran into any problems though. Everyone has always just kept to themselves for the most part, and any interactions I have had have all been friendly. Have your experiences been the same?

I have never had any issues, even with the locals. I do take the time to talk to whomever I run into. They're often a wealth of knowledge once you get them talking about the neighborhood.

That's also good advice in general for urbex. If you take the time to build someone up for their contributions, be it information or photography, they will return the favor in kind. I owe a lot to what I have been able and to see to the locals I run into and other explorers. It is important to be genuine and give back to the community.

Well said. Genuine people definitely enhance the overall experience of this hobby a lot.
