Its a called a "linear accelerator" and its a particle accelerator which generates X-Rays to treat people with cancer. The X-Rays are directed at the cancer cells, which destroys them. They cost anywhere from $300k-$1.5 million. This is a relatively unedited photo I took of it inside the hospital on my iPhone 7...

Take nothing but Nazi VHS tapes, leave nothing but footprints, drink nothing but Dos Equis. Stay thirsty my friends.

Might wanna remove that price from your post, if I can figure out which hospital that is within five minutes so can any scrappers. It's only a matter of time before one of them decides to take that equipment.

...I give it three months, tops.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Not for nothing but OP is just trying to get attention. That machine may have been worth a mint but it's been left in a moldy, water logged abandoned hospital. I doubt it's worth anything anymore.

It's also probably outdated and not worth a lot at all in a medical capacity hence why it was left inside - it would be more hassle to remove it than it's worth.

Haslar Hospital here in the UK was famous for the amount of apparently 'expensive' medical equipment left behind including x-ray machines and MRI scanners but it was all outdated and far beyond it's intended lifespan. It seems like a scandal on the surface but they only leave stuff behind for one reason.

That's things only as much use as the building it's in. There's a reason it's abandoned. Cool find, but the title is definitely looking for attention.

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.
