My wife and I have driven past these dilapidated farmhouses countless times without stopping, but last month we finally made the effort to get out and explore the site.

1. This building was locked up, and neither of us felt like climbing through the window.

2. Lots of supplies left behind.

3. Satan is waitin!

4. White powe...?

5. A bit of a fixer-upper.

6. This one was accessible, but the inside looked as though it had experienced a fire, and the floor didn't seem too stable. We opted not to test our luck.

7. Rawr.

8. I'm honestly surprised some of these buildings remained upright.

9. If my insides were collapsing, "blah" would probably be my reaction too.

10. This building was the most well-preserved of the group.

11. It's been a long time since anyone relaxed on this porch.

12. Just before I took this shot, I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror on the far wall, and it scared the bejesus out of me because I thought the place was inhabited.

13. On second thought, I don't need to go that bad...

14. Lots of drug paraphernalia in this shed.

15. This kitchen could use a remodel.

16. I wanted to go inside this one, but my wife convinced me that the collapsed roof - and the jug of piss on the front porch - were reason enough to stay outside.

And there you have it. Interesting site with lots of stuff left behind, and explorers willing to brave some of the interiors might get even more value from wandering around here for an hour.

Cool. I have some photos in the big house before everything started disappearing.

The one you skipped was the best of the bunch, in my opinion. But, beware of the bees inside.

I'd like to see what it used to look like (and what's now missing)

Oh man! If I had known there was a piano inside, I probably would’ve braved it. I’ve got a thing about old pianos.

Thanks for the tip on the bees, too. Seems to be a running theme with a lot of AZ locations these days.

there's always a piano, lol.

It wasn't that bad inside actually. And the bees are in a back bathroom, just we just didn't go in there (and apparently a big hive right before you go down the steps into the basement, so I skipped that too).

Did you see the pool table in the other building?

I did NOT see the pool table. We'll need to take another run at this place - looks like we missed some good stuff.

Off the top of my head, the chandeliers in the hallway, closets full of clothes, game closet and that hallway bookshelf was completely full. There were a crazy amount of super old Arizona Highways and NatGeos, and there were Christmas decorations out. Things you admired but nothing super photo worthy. I'll see what I have.
The Winnebago was so pristine, I refused to go near it.

There were a bunch of sad letters in the last lived house about a guy who lost touch with his son after he went to prison.

*Fun fact, that piano was in the bedroom across from the kitchen but was unshootable in that small space. It took a lot to move it without it falling through the floor.

*Double fun fact. I met member Anomalicious here.

Holy crap - I can’t believe that’s the same Winnebago! That’s wild!

How long ago were these shots taken?

Man, that's crazy, esp about the Winnebago. I'd like to see any other shots you have from there.

This closet was still in tact.

Well I gotta say, that closet surprises me.

The cool thing to me was that the main house had all the windows boarded up so the only light came in through the ceiling holes.

So like this was a 30sec shot, f5.6 with 400iso

Or you just went at night and used flashlights

I've really gotta be better about bringing my tripod so I can do more long exposure stuff. I love this shot.

really nice shots. I wish that back bedroom was still set up like that, and that tub was still in the bathroom (I liked that bathroom with the old sink and peely paint).

The kitchen was definitely in better shape.

I haven't been here long, but I think it's slim pickings, lol.

Still, kinda nice to have some activity/life in regional board.

The treatment and color in these shots is great. Really like that you didn't get lazy and that you didn't go nuts with HDR bs.

Great and well thought out images of a cool spot.

Thanks! When I was first starting out, I'll admit to going a little overboard with HDR and ultra-saturated colors. But as I've continued to experiment, I've found that I really enjoy a darker, more muted look to my shots.

Yeah, it's not the greatest of areas, but there is the Hayden Flour mill, although the last time I saw it it was under some heavy construction, so I'm not sure I or anyone else will ever get in without issues... There are some cool ghost towns if you go further south though!

Yeh, that thing is locked up tight, and right in the middle of a super active area. It's also undergoing plans to be repurposed as a hotel. Not getting in there.

Yeh, some of the ghost towns are ok. I'm not really into the ones that are tourist attractions though.
