Been working on and off in Edmonton for the last couple of weeks, long and exhausting shifts leaving me with little energy for exploring, but this morning I managed to squeeze in a quick fix before flying back home to BC. Maybe the locals have seen these spots, maybe not, regardless it sure was nice to get out of the city this morning, breathe some crisp Alberta morning air, and snoop around some quiet countryside ruins.

The first was clearly abandoned after a major house fire. Every room and every hallway burnt to a crisp yet, being primarily constructed of concrete, it still stands, the exterior providing little hint at the damage within.

The second, an old country home that once served locals as a small cafe and bakery. Even with a company name I've been unable to find any old photos of the place, even our friend the Street View car has never seen the property active. Remaining documents strewn about the property don't seem to be dated beyond 1963. Nothing of the original restaurant furnishings remain but a metal "Restaurant Entrance" sign, lazily propped up next to the front door.

The concrete house is interesting.
Looks like it really contained the fire.
Potentially dangerous; damaged concrete spooks me. No warning except when it goes.

Thanks. It was pretty strange, couldn't help remembering scenes from Silent Hill. Amazing how normal it looks from the outside, then you walk in... Every inch of every wall, upstairs and downstairs, the ash so thick that the appliances and bath tub look like they've been painted black.

Yet even with an address I haven't been able to find a single record of the fire online.

My first thought was when I saw your photos was that it reminded me of silent hill! Creepy place
