I'm sure this is one that at least some of you will recognize. I did this explore a while back now, before I had a proper camera. Despite the poor capabilities of my cellphone, I was still able to pull together a decent set of photos. Everything was edited in Lightroom. Perhaps someday I'll make a trip back with my dslr. In the meantime, hope you enjoy.

This school shut down in the early 2000's after both a lack of funding and enrollment forced the school board to make a difficult decision. Even at that point, some of the facilities on the campus were outdated and in need of renovation. Nearly everything was left behind after the building closed. Weather and vandalism have taken a heavy toll on this place, yet it still remains as one of the most classic explores of the area.

#1 - First well-lit hallway of the explore

#2

#3

#4 - Unfortunately the auditorium experienced a major fire

#5 - Despite the damage, this room was still quite impressive

#6

#7 - Class is dismissed

#8

#9

#10 - "Summit or bust"

#11 - The auxiliary gym was my favorite of the whole place

#12

#13

#14 - Drowning in education

#15 - My personal favorite shot of the set

#16 - I'll end with a bit of color

A very atmospheric set! If you hadn't said so, I never would have thought this was with a cell phone.

Great shots for a cellphone. The place shines through all the graffiti. Well done.

Thanks for the support everyone! Glad you all enjoyed the pictures.

Just a quick bit of advice to anyone looking to take pictures on an older or lower quality device. Take lots and lots of shots and some of them are bound to turn out alright. The folder for this particular trip has 341 pictures in it and that is after I removed any duplicate/unusable shots. I wasn't impressed with the auto focus on my phone, so I often took identical back-to-back shots to keep the one that was most in focus.

These shots are so good! This location was such a cool one. When I went there was so much stuff to see, but we missed a lot, the pools, the main gym, the rooftop and the tunnels.

But that auditorium though! The graffiti here is also nice! Did you find Sentrock's work? https://scontent-o...891922542592_n.jpg I'd say he's my favorite artist and I was amazed to see that in an abandoned school classroom.

Right?!

Another perfect example of it's not always the quality of the camera, but rather the photographer!

Great set of photos here. Keep up the great work

Thank you! Yes, this place certainly as a lot of cool spots in it. I think I was lucky enough to find everything the first time around, although I can't remember if I found the tunnels here or not. I explored another school in the area only a few weeks after this one, so I can't remember whether the tunnels I saw were in this one or the other. Regardless, I think I spent over three hours here, so I definitely got to see a lot.

I am not familiar with that artist. While I do photograph places in their current state, I'm a big fan of leaving no trace. Thus I'd always prefer a graffiti free explore.

Thank you so much. While I can definitely say that having proper camera equipment is very nice, I don't think people should let that hold them back. You can do a lot in the world of photography and film with an alright device and a good idea.

These are stellar, lighting is excellent, better than a lot of high end camera shots

Thank you! There were plenty of shots (that didn't make the cut) where the lighting didn't turn out.

Thanks so much! I always go by the idea that the point of any art you create is to tell a story. Sometimes it's harder to tell that story with just pictures, but I always strive to achieve that.
