So you guys know the church I've been obsessed with? There was a row of houses set for demo about a month ago right across from it. I drove by recently and the houses are gone. Less than a month. I was shocked! Figured we'd have a few months to make an attempt.

Was that the thing I mentioned? And is that weird church still there? There seem to be a lot of things in Edmonton I'm concerned about right now. Did anyone ever look into what's happening with Afton, Westlawn, and one other school on the west end?

Yep that's the one. Only there were 4-5 pristine looking houses there. I took a walk by and they were just fenced off and looked like they'd been empty all of 4 days. They're totally gone now. It was quick.

The church is still there. I've made it in once and wouldn't mind trying again before it's gone too. Some cool photo ideas from the upper rows looking down. Maybe this weekend if anyone wants to join?

I haven't checked the schools though. Are they empty or will be empty? I can google that too. ;)

You might just have to make a trip or something one of these days.

I haven't looked at the schools, but we did try and take a peek inside the lovely church the other night, but it was locked up tight.

It's in my mind. If I heard either of those two schools were being knocked down this year, I'd be booking flights.

Nice! Just be real careful going back, my father is good friends with the owner, and supposedly there's a ton of rotted out wood inside it, and it's finally slated for demo late this summer (if the giant sign on the side wasn't any indication).

yes it was quite limited to where you can go safely, I'm surprised it lasted this long with the roof caved in.

It was actually demolished today so I went and watched. The roof area was pretty much gone and that (plus pressure from the City) was the reason it was torn down. The main structure was still perfectly solid though, they demolished it by removing the underneath support beams on the east side and tipped it over, and after falling onto it's side, the main structure was still fully intact.

Nope, my father just shot me a text out of nowhere that it was happening so I walked over.
