Modora Covered Bridge; Modora IN

Not abandoned, but old and epic. Built in 1875, and used for road traffic up until 1972. It is the longest historical covered bridge in the US at 471ft long. It has 3 perfectly symmetrical arches within supporting it. It has been restored with a new cedar roof and most of the siding, but the 3-arch support structure is all original.

This is another location I regret not taking more pictures of, especially underneath. I was once again rushed with the hope of making it to camp to set-up before dark...

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.

Funny story about this place, they actually throw a festival here every year. I had a bunch of friends go this year and I'll probably go next year.

It is quite possible that I check that out - thanks for the heads up! When I passed though Indiana, I let my Google Bitch direct me to each location without using highways. That resulted in a bunch of locations that I tagged, and would like to return to photograph. A fall festival would be a great way to break things up. Thanks again!
