Its been a while since I posted, anyhow some photos from a power plant nearby, closed by changes in environmental regulations. Not economical to covert to natural gas.

These are beautiful. I love the muted color scheme used for everything except the turbines. And the scale of that machine hall is deceptively vast. Thanks for posting these.

That's what I thought too. At first glance, I thought oh that's a decent sized room, but not too insane. Then I saw the doors on the right hand side and used those for scale. Those machines are absolute mammoths.

Awesome place and set of pictures! The plant looks so untouched, like it just closed down over the weekend and the workers will come back and fire it up again on Monday. Really cool to see a recently-abandoned place like this and such massive generators!
