Posted by Fleeting The Toronto event that is posted here is a recurring event, so we don't have any control over the info, but it's been a good template for meeting and exploring. Pretty much what we do is go to the meeting spot, have a sandwich, say hi, discuss places we want to go, and plan our day from there. Not sure if that's what you had in mind for your event, but that's what we do and it works pretty well, so I thought I'd mention it.

That is kinda what happened with the last event. We met at a diner, got some grub and then when to nearby locations, very low risk. But as we were leaving to go on the explore, I checked UER, I had a ton of PMs saying at the last minute people couldn't make it.
Truthfully, in a way, I'm glad it ended up the way it did as I don't think exploring with a group of 10 in this particular tiny Florida town would work.
And what has always a sorta road block for me when planning something like this; Wtf do I do when 30 people show up? There is no real planing for that.
The other ideas that I am having for this is for new people who haven't done much exploring yet that may feel like they may be holding the group up or maybe they don't think that they are ready but simply want to meet others. Also, I personally know tons of people not yet apart of the hobby that are like, "I wanna go do that too! Maybe"
Also, with not currently setting it up as a monthly event, could entertain the idea of moving it to a different city for other event. Maybe Jax one month so people from Georgia could join us, Tally another month for our Bama friends. There is so much potential.
