| | | Hi all, I've been thinking about getting a new camera to replace my 15 year old Nikon. About time, right? As with many of us, I shoot outdoor as well as in low-light location. I would also like to get serious about video. I pretty much settled on a Lumix GH5 because of it's great video features and solid photos. For me, there are two big down sides to the GH5. The 4/3 sensor and the issue with auto focus. The 4/3 sensor has acceptable, but not outstanding low light performance. I'm also not a fan of the 2x crop factor, although that can be overcome to some extent with lens selection. Lastly, the auto focus issue. Not a problem for stills, but is quite an issue for video shooting. So, a couple of days ago I saw that Sony released the A7 III. From what I can glean from the reviews, it is an amazing camera that overcomes the issues that I see in the GH5. I really like the idea of getting back to a full frame camera (I started photography with 35mm film). The big downside that I'm seeing right now is the cost of lenses. Ouch. Both cameras have sealed bodies which is important to me since I shoot underground a lot. Although the GH5 has dropped a couple of hundred, both cameras are in the same price range. So what am I missing? Have I overlooked anything obvious? I know that everyone has their favorite brand, but since this will most likely be my last camera, I want to get a really nice one that I can enjoy. I'm seriously leaning towards the Sony.... I would appreciate your thoughts. Abby Normal
