From an active site but worth posting nonetheless. I like this because they said "No access" and when you're like me "No access" means "Please, try to access me!"

My college library had two mezzanine level stacks that were always locked and were marked "RESTRICTED ACCESS" on the directories and the doors themselves. The elevator had buttons for both floors, but you needed a key to turn them on. I could access both floors by using an old-timey locker key to rotate the entire lock assembly in its housing, telling the elevator that it could go to those floors. They kept some neat stuff in there, like a World War I British SMLE rifle.

Good times...

This is a non-profit organization. It wasn't meant to be that way, but it is:

"Capacity of this room limited to 28 consenting adults"

Found on the door to a tiny bathroom, where two people would be considered crowded.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

I'm going through a phase where I've been rummaging through all my archives looking for tags and signs and old documents I've found in abandonments along the way. Due to this random and probably pointless time-killing activity I've decided to participate in, I'm resurrecting some related threads that have otherwise been forgotten.

Still one of my all-time favorites:

This one was one of the first abandonments I photographed many years ago. It's still one of my favorite signs:
