Hello everyone!! It's been awhile since I've done a legit post on here. Last year was a busy one for me and I really amped up my exploring. This was one of my favorite spots from 2017. Myself and three of my close exploring friends visited this abandoned coal burning power plant in June. The place is huge and we spent about five hours here.

This plant was shut down nearly two decades ago. After several complaints by locals to the EPA of high levels of emissions coming from the plant the company that owned it was given a ultimatum: Comply with EPA regulations or shut it down.
Obviously they chose the later.

The level of scrapping here was much lower than one would expect and there was none of the tagging or penis graffiti often found in these industrial locations. It;s not exactly difficult to get in the building, but perhaps it's isolated location, sandwiched between and river, railroad tracks and the highway has kept the idiots way.

Hope you all enjoy the photos! I will try to get back in the habit of posting here again. I have a bunch of spots I really think you guys will enjoy!

Happy to see your photos on the main board again SwanS. My personal faves are 1 and 2, and the Speaker in the corner. Love your song titles. Awesome Explore, and will definitely look for MORE from you in the future

"Nobody puts Speaker in a corner" is one of the best things I've seen on this site. You made me chuckle.

This place is pretty fun. I could be wrong, but I think another reason it has faired so well over the years is that up until very recently the surrounding property was more active. I tried to go here in 2013 and there were workers everywhere. Then I went again last year and it was a ghost town. Maybe I just hit it on a bad day the first time. Not sure.

Thanks Mis!! I would put those speakers in my house if I could lol.
I have a ton of shots I need to post here. I will try to do so with a bit more frequency!

That is very high praise!! Glad I got a chuckle out of ya and always nice to see someone appreciate my often ridiculous sense of humor.

Thanks!! I started giving all my shots titles a few years back. I have fun with it and it often adds a little something extra to the shot I think.

Ya know I never really noticed until you mentioned it, but this place sure was gray! We visited on a rather gray and rainy day as well.
Glad you enjoyed!!

Oh yea this place was a blast. One of the more enjoyable industrial places I've done, so much to see and such a variety.

It was quiet as could be the day we went. We chose to park a decent ways away and approach from the back via the railroad tracks. We didn't see anyone the entire time we were there.
