I guess I'm kind of confused. How are you planning on using a topo map to find the well? What kind of info do you have on the well and what do you still need? Does the topo map also need to have the well labeled on it? That might be very hard to find. Someone suggested sanborn fire insurance maps and I think that may be you best bet to getting a map depicting the well. It may be hard to find the sanbourn you are looking for online, but the library should have them. You could then cross reference it with a topo map to get your elevation data.
For elevation data, you should also consider looking into lidar maps assuming the land surface hasn't changed much since the well existed.
Also, the photo upload feature on this forum is pretty archaic. Most people who share photos here host them of sites like imgur.com or flickr.com then link to them. I hope this helps.
Posted by Juxobe Uh, strange request. This isn't exactly the place to be asking but I guess the word abandoned in it. This post really needs some more information. Otherwise I think its not really Urbex and thus not a thread that will live long. Also what general location are you talking about. It might be easier for us to start there.

Since when is doing actual research not urbex related?
