In 1342, two monks of the aforesaid monastery, with the permission of their abbot, founded this building. Its slow decline begins about three hundred years later, in 1500, with several raids by the Saracens. Towards the middle of 700, a first attempt is initiated restructuring, to the abbot by Nicola Salerno.
