Sand: I've always found your avatar photo interesting. I just gave you your first UER "Like" for that reason.

LOL! Thanks for the like. That's just a half-abandoned lock factory, I believe, and a train yard in between. The "like" thing wasn't here when I stopped hanging out on here, first just taking a break because of some members being snobby, then I found out I had heart failure.
Looking back at some explores where I told my partner to "go on without me!" and felt like I was going to die, heart beating out of my chest just from some hiking uphill....I wasn't out of shape....I even took fitness courses at the community college, and my heart rate never improved, and they were concerned. I rocked the strength training, but had to find out that way, that I was screwed by 'Mother Nature'. On top of that I have had even crappier health issues...so the urban exploring forum browsing was too much of a tease to look at, but now I am feeling better and thinking about getting back into it.
Coming back here, I am amazed to see so many Bay Area explorers! It's really amazing...a bit sad, though, because some of the really cool places I would normally bring people new to the scene have been demolished in the last few years.
As far as the legality of police taking memory cards - if they don't arrest you/take you into custody, they can't just take your memory card, and they can't erase your files, either. Of course, they can either lie and do what they want, or believe they have the right to do things they legally can't, and will do it. Whenever we had Bay Area Meetups, we would sometimes know that we were probably going to run into cops at some point, depending on the place. When that happened, I would erase the images myself before leaving a building, or if police actually were approaching a building, I would erase the pictures and get out ASAP. At home, it's easy enough to restore the erased pictures.
