Finally got a day off of work last week to go explore, its been too long. Got a chance to go see the Abandoned Mall in my area. Vandals Had torn it apart but it was still a cool experience. The Place was officially closed in 2013, but had been going downhill since 2009, when the mall owner jacked up the rent prices while business was already down.

1.)

2.)

3.)

4.) Weird Bunny-baby found sitting by itself, on a table

5.) Old Pizza Shop, with some food left in the pans in the cooler

6.) LOTS of mold (Good thing i had a particle mask rated for mold)

Pretty cool! Abandoned malls are always deliciously creepy to me, even though I know a lot of people think they're boring. Was that weird bunny baby found on a table in the kind of store one would expect to find weird bunny babies sold in, or just out on the food court or something?

Love it. Abandoned malls are my favorite places to explore. There's just something unique about them.

The other great thing about malls is that your photograph may end up in someone else's book!

Enjoy them while they last, it seems to be the trend to tear them down as soon as possible. We had White Flint Mall in Bethesda that was abandoned for maybe a year before they bulldozed it. Lake Forrest Mall in Gaithersburg is on its last legs and I expect it to be abandoned within a year or so, expect it to be torn down within a month of closure.

There's the mall in Alexandria that only has Sears open as of now (can't think of the name of it)

Thank you for posting your photos. Great job! Here in NM we have abandoned buildings but the city is quick to board them up. Wish there was a abandoned mall here in Albuquerque to explore.

This is really cool. I've yet to get to explore an abandoned mall. I took a trip a few weeks ago back to Oklahoma City, where I graduated high school for the first time in almost 15 years only to discover both the malls where I had work closed but still standing, one only for about a month. I DESPERATELY wanted to go explore.
