Last place I checked out was an abandoned Hypermart about an hour from where I live. The interior was stripped so there wasn't much to see and I had a little run-in with the cops. That was a couple weeks ago. I just haven't been able to get out between my tight schedule and this cold weather. It's been long enough that as soon as I have the time and a partner to go with, I'll brave the cold.

It is pretty extensive apparently. Really weird that after walking for what only seemed like ten minutes I came to a "T", I took the path to the right and found myself in what looked like a missile silo. Climbed up and found a way to the surface, and when I checked my GPS I was in Florida. Crazy. I wonder where I would have ended up if I turned left instead.

Albuquerque

My recent one was this past summer a former paper mill/haunted house and an old drive-in restaurant both in town. 'Bandos make great backdrops for car photos, too.

Auto repair shop with the work bench light still on.

The owner of the building has since left all the lights on to keep people away.

This spooky abandoned mill. Huge place, three floors (Basement) but my crew went at night and smelled weed, so we think someone else was in there. We plan to check it out more later.

Well, at least you know that they were probably going to be pretty chill if you did run into them.

This former nursing home.

It's a weird place as the upper floors are all tagged and filled with trash and junk and other detritus but the first floor is absolutely mint and untouched and extremely grand.

This one had an interesting end as the extremely vigilant local residents who live practically on top of this building managed to work out we were inside and called the police on us. After shooting the lower floors with the police and disgruntled locals waiting for us outside we decided to leave via the front door, and discovered no fewer than four police cars and many police officers waiting for us. After they asked what we were up to one of them wandered off to check our details and we got chatting to one of the younger officers who seemed genuinely interested in the sort of stuff we were doing, and even told one of the disgruntled locals to stop recording us haha. The officer doing the checking came back and asked the officer we were talking to if he was OK to let us go and of course he said yes, and wished us luck on our next adventure!

A whole string of small bits of luck came together on that explore as it could have ended very differently had we been forced to use the extremely awkward way in to exit the building.

Took my kids to an abandoned packaging factory today. It was fun but not mind-blowing. The place was beyond trashed.

The last place I visited was an army facility 10 minutes away from me. It has been sitting right under my nose the entire time! I'll have to go back with proper gear though because it was identified to contain asbestos.

Last Wednesday I spent the day exploring a couple of new mines south of Las Vegas.

It was a good day of exploring. We need to return to complete the exploration of the second mine.

I posted a bunch of pictures in the Southwest forum.

The last place I visited was an abandoned warehouse that was turned into a church near the end of its use. I also found a hobos diary from the 70s.

Last place I went to was a place I found a few years ago while walking through the woods behind my house. I grew up walking through and playing in those those woods almost everyday and have no idea how I missed a whole abandoned trailer park.
