Oh yeah, I just read a history article that reminded me there was a Bando Hotel in Seoul that even housed the US embassy for a few years.

I believe the current popular use of the term bando comes from the genre of music called "Hip-Hop/Rap" (per my Amazon Music.) Not sure if you guys have heard of it or heard any of it but it is quite commonly heard in reference to "trapping."

I do find it hard to believe that one could describe the term Bando more eloquently than the examples found on UrbanDictionary.com. Example follows.

Bando (n)
An abandoned building where illegal narcotics (drugs) are sold. Also known as a trap house.
"Bussin' out the bando!"
"She my trap queen, let her hit the bando."
"Jeremy, let's hit the bando today, we gone buy something good, getting higher than clouds boy!"

Hence the reason you hear it all the time on YouTube vloggers and such.

So, next time you get that itch to "buss" on out of something might I suggest the bando?

That is way cooler than the modern use of Bando. Although you say there was a Bando Hotel. Could the Bando be a bando?

It was demolished in the late 1970s, but anyone around back then almost certainly could have explored it if they had the mind to.

Its just the worst word that our hobby have ever see, by far, far ,far.

It could have had like 4 or 5 option for the pool and i would have choose the lowest one.

Everytime i see it i cringe hard and want to punch something...anyway, you get the point lol

One 'group' on instagram that got tons of exposure and followers ask me in commenting one of my picture "nice bando!, tag us to get featured"

I answerd "It's a no from me" lol

So they were essentially trying to take credit by association for explorations they had no hand in? Charming.

The word makes me cringe. I wouldn't shame anyone else for using it, but I certainly won't.

I think Santa needs to bring us all T-shirts that say BANDO on them.

Maybe a logo of a creepy doll head or something like that??
