Yeah I guess that's pretty fair. It's really just a matter of preference.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not split on using lockpicks, I'm split on whether I'm morally OK with people using them. I sure as hell am not going to prison no matter how cool the place is! I'd say for me it's really that I think people should make their own decisions but I also don't want people to get in trouble. It's tough for me to pick a side on whether to passively let people do that or try to actively prevent it.

I also did post on here a few years ago about lock picking but I've given it more thought since then and I sure as hell am not getting arrested for B&E or possession of criminals tools.

I love lock picking and I also own a gun. These are two things that are REALLY not good to mix with this hobby! Leave both of these at home and you're looking at a warning if you get caught. Get caught with those types of things and you're looking at a life altering legal battle. No thanks!

The UE Database is pretty much just a Mausoleum for Buildings Past now.

Your probably mostly right, but I have noticed fair number of deviations from this general description in certain regions. Almost all of the more current areas on the map are added to and updated by one or two locals to that area.
I guess what I'm saying is that if you do decide to put a little work into the DB, it doesn't go unnoticed and does improve its overall usefulness more than you might realize.
Luckily, there are a few people around my area that do this, but it's still a mixed bag. I try to correct them as I encounter errors and add sites that are appropriate (i.e., not a waste of time but not necessarily the most sensitive, historic untouched ones either). I also try to add public ones so that the newbies can get their feet wet too. This is how I found UER and what initially piqued my interest.

The UEDB works best when good members add and update good information. Its an ongoing community effort. At any rate I don't see the big problem or feel "the time has come" to do something about the DB. It is what it is. So what if there is a 150yr old building that's been demolished for 12 years or re-purposed in there? I still find it interesting to see what it looked like even if it no longer exists. If you see something verifiably wrong fix it.

Some of the locations our members have added are nothing short of beautiful, we have some very skilled photographers on here that know how to capture a location's feel.

If you want real time instant attention, driving directions and entry details, one of the social media platforms might be more to your liking.

Spot on.
It's fine as is; it shouldn't be a bloody treasure map.
With demoed sites it's always safe to show everything. No worries.
It makes a great story... with pictures

Since its indexed, the stories don't get buried under a thousand threads so explorers can make thiet exploits easily findable even a decade later.
That's all I use the UEDB for and enjoy it when I do

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
