This last weekend I explored a well known abandoned college in Northern California with a (new) fellow uer member. In a place well known for rangers/security prowling around the location, we scouted out the surrounding area before carefully hopping a fence to the actual campus. Notorious for the $300 dollar fine that comes with being caught behind the fence, we had to be very cautious. Apparently the college was a religious school that was created in the early 30's in effort to prep students in their path to priesthood. The college itself has been closed for quite a while now, however the campus was used all the way through the 90's.

Midway through our trip, I spotted a white ranger truck in plain sight no more than 20 yards away from me. I quickly grabbed @Costco from a nearby building, and we hopped over a barbed wire fence on the other side of the pathway, not knowing if the driver saw me or not. We managed to escape down a steep hill, and made our way back to our cars without being caught. Fortunately, we explored most of the spot before the trip was ended prematurely, and my perfect record lives on. (Knock on wood)

Here are some photos, I'm sure @Costco has some better ones:

Looking back, I wish I got more photos of the exterior, but I wanted to be covered as much as possible.

Heard nothing about the reputation this place has after all the research I did.. I actually got my first citation here this year. The ranger wasn't a bad dude, he left my buddy off with a warning & told us to just split the cost of the cite. He met us as we were leaving & told us that if you're caught inside the buildings it's a misdemeanor. On top of all that, I managed to shoot a whole roll on my camera before realizing I forgot to put film inside.. Many lessons learned that cold afternoon. Definitely a solid location though, as long as you don't mind rat feces.

Nice to see the insides. Thanks

I got lucky/unlucky. I went by here 3 times...once at night, and twice during the day. Never saw a ranger any of those times, but everything was sealed up TIGHT all 3 times I was there.

i also got lucky/unlucky there because i managed to explore the church and other buildings but they weren't as interesting. then got spotted by the white pickup truck in the opening of the church and we ran thick into vegetation and got poison ivy all over our bodies and he had to wait about 4 hours because the pickup truck was parked right next to our car.

That's the main problem with this spot; if they see any car parked on the side of any road nearby they instantly go and check this spot out. Got the infamous $300 ticket a few years back and they already knew my name as they walked up to me from my license plate

Yeah, I got the classic "Which one of you is XXXX?". Pretty terrible feeling when that happens. This is probably only a $20 Uber/Lyft ride from me, I might have to try that.

This is an amazing spot to explore. There is quite a bit to see. I was lucky and didn't get caught here but many people have.

Just a heads up, most of the buildings here are due to be demolished starting May 1st, 2018. I hiked there last night and as I walked out the ranger was standing at the fence, probably hoping to catch us inside. The fences are wide open right now, super easy access all over the place. I've never seen it like that.

It is still up. Completely fenced around with barbed wire and the park/preserve rangers tend to guard the perimeter. If you go early on a weekend morning you could probably get away with getting in. Just don’t park your car in the public parking lot next to the location (if you get there early) or else you may set off interest for the rangers.
