Love how many places the region has, still have more spots to see and photograph.

It's getting progressively harder to explore in dp..I mean it's still possible but many of the locations are being overrun by construction workers. In a few years it won't be quite the urbex hub it once was.

That's why I'm not taking it for granted.

Probably a dumb question but I'm not from the area and Google's not turning up anything obvious: what is the DP region?

dog patch illinois st, san francisco. The shipyard BAE systems recently closed and thats been discussed here.

BTW, BAE Systems right by the San Jo airport moved somewhere (?) and within weeks, the office space got demolished. I exactly forget, but that was the manufacturing space for the Bradley armed personnel transport.

The first building there was part of the USCG Radio Station, they had three transmitter buildings plus an operations building and admin/barracks area, which is where the College Maintenance/Shops are at now. This is Transmitter Building One. A four engined Lockheed Super Constellation crashed just north of this building on December 24th, 1964. Many pieces of that aircraft, some quite large, remain up there on both sides of the trail. The other buildings further up are part of the old Nike Missile Control Site, not related to that lone building you first come to when hiking up there. I keep meaning to make another visit up to the Nike Site, but I can't believe how trashed they seem to be now from your photos. I haven't been there in about 10 years.

Jeff
