Let us hear from you.

Has anyone heard from Peptic Ulcer? He's in Katy right? Says he logged in here 8/30.

The images I'm seeing from Houston are breaking my heart. I think I heard that now there is flooding possible up in MissUnderstood's neck of the woods as well.

One thing for sure though, Texans rock. For every heartbreaker there are more stories of people stepping up to serve and to help. I have to say I'm quite proud of my state this week.

At least one abandoned spot that I liked to visit collapsed. I'll be checking on others soon as I can.

Good news. I can even begin to imagine that magnitude of destruction.

Hello Everyone! Just checking in. First we were just suppose to get some rain as we live 85 miles from Houston, then we were surrounded by flooding water and in fear of it rising in the night as many of our friends and neighbors had to call for boat rescue. But, we made it by the skin of our teeth receiving 35 plus inches. Then the electricity went and came and went. Its on now, and we are cool, but we have NO water in the entire city. The main pumping station was overcome by flooding water and is in need of repairs. The secondary station is out of order too. Water is being trucked in or flown in...i have no idea how its getting here as we are currently surrounded and the highways are closed...anyways, we can get what we need tomorrow for drinking and cooking, but we will have to take spit baths and deal with adding water to flush toilets until the water recedes and water facilities are fixed. A small price to pay for not losing our home and cars like so many others we know. The whole situation WAS sad and WILL be sad for a long time to come. It will be a slow road back to normalcy and my heart goes out to those who are having to start over with the clothes on there back and literally nothing else. Count your blessings if u live somewhere that hasnt been turned into chaos. Somewhere that the hospitals are still open and your loved ones havent been flown to another state for medical attention and somewhere you didnt have to watch the elderly or disabled be plucked out of filthy water because they couldnt help themselves. None of this was suppose to happen, but it did! and, a reminder how unpredictable these outer bands of storms can be.

Thanks to N.Matt for thinking of me... MisUnderstood... and, my Best Wishes to all.

What a nice comment with wanting to help in some way. I saw on yahoo today a way others can help when you sincerely want to do something and dont know what to do. Go to Amazon.com and donate to a charity or choose an item from the wish list... it will be sent to those that can really use it....Pretty cool. Here is some of the information :

... charities employ Amazon’s Wish List feature to accept money donations, Or, You pick what you’d like to buy, pay Amazon, and the company ships the goods directly to the charity. You can, for example, buy diapers for the San Antonio-based Texas Diaper Bank. The Dallas-based animal welfare group SPCA of Texas,or use its wish list for everything from kitty litter to doggy toys, Send Toys for displaced children, blankets, pillows, etc.
It’s an appealing idea. Instead of wondering where your dollars go, you know exactly who gets what youd like to donate.

** Personally, i havent had a Starbucks in a 10 days... Could really use a case for motivation > jk.

I'm alive. I was out in the worst of it doing what I could as I'm a Harris county wrecker driver. I was in Katy, Cypress, Waller and down into Ft Bend a little. Hope everyone is well!

I’ve been wondering about Peptic too. I sent him a PM and never heard back. The last thing I had heard was via text - he and “Ms. Ulcer,” as he says, managed to (barely) avoid being flooded by the storm. I took that as an ‘all clear’ since the floodwaters had crested pretty much all over, but I haven’t heard anything since...
