Thanks!

Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm?

For my state, one is now a cancer clinic, but the other is shut down. Replacement building built. Looks promising if I can find someone near by!

It looks like the Maine and MA ones have been taken over and reopened under different managements.

Thanks for the list! One close by has already reopened, but it does appear two are still empty. Might be worth a check!

Looks like the vidant pungo hospital in NC has been demolished, according to Google maps...there's a small building and a large empty space next to it. Davis hospital in statesville would've been a good explore, but it was demolished recently too.

It is now open, either all or in part, as the Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare...

Just an FYI, the Hart County Hospital is no longer abandoned. I drove by it this weekend and it had been bought by a nurse training facility and was recently renovated.

This is a common theme especially in rural counties.

Some private/rural hospitals in Texas get funded by the county but others get funded by "special tax districts" set up to suck tax dollars out of the residents in an arbitrary geographic area. I pay more hospital tax than I do school or property tax and still the blood sucking greedy health management group in some other state is whining because they don't have enough money boo freakin hoo

When we removed health care from the free market system, and tried to level the playing field so everyone pays too much (cough cough obamacare) we made it hard for these health management companies to turn a profit and still pay 150 or so employees to run a 30 bed hospital..

So yeah plenty of hospitals are or soon will be vacant, meanwhile its standing room only at free market pay as you go clinics and urgent care locations.

edit: p.s. Bowie in Texas has reopened it got sold to some other health management / investment company, maybe they can turn a profit who knows?

Well, pretty much all posts on UER are unnecessary.

So the list is not complete or up-to-date, file a lawsuit man. I think its fair to say some people might actually benefit from the list as unnecessary to you as it is...

You really think the list itself is what I find unnecessary? Not the simultaneous namedropping of 80 recently closed hospitals by a user that barely contributes? I didn't think that was such a controversial opinion. Forgive me for being uncharacteristically critical.

Nobody would assume a great explorer such as yourself needs a list but think of all the newbies and rookies here

Mi guess is no super secret urbex locations are exposed by this, our local newspaper published a list for Tx like this.

I agree that the OP showed poor judgement in my opinion.
It was a shotgun impersonal approach with no pics or hands on experience.
Something for everyone, including vandals and scrappers, blah-blah-blah.
&
They forgot the gps coordinates

I refrain from commenting up until now on this thread but it rubbed me the wrong way at the get go and still does.
The OP hasn't been on here for over half a year.
WTF? Really?

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
