Small house in the woods

Everything of value has been taken from this house. Clothes were left draped on the bed and hanging in the closet, handwritten notes dated 1992 still left around. The whole living room is exposed and there's stuff all over the ground.

This is one of the two open doors. It's very easy to get in, but I had to wade hip deep in some relatively unkind flora. Result: now I have a machete.

The living room has giant broken windows, you can literally just step inside. My favorite thing about abandoned places is the nature taking over, so I was super into it.

I'm super new to posting, so I'm not sure what will be interesting to everybody. Obviously all of it is riveting to my non-exploring friends, but everyone here has much more experience. I'm also very new to photography. Please let me know if I need to change anything?

There were two pianos in this place. I didn't want to touch anything so I have no idea if they work.

I think you did just fine on the pictures! Welcome to UER. That place is defiantly pretty trashed. Nice job!

DDAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMM that place is a mold paradise! I can't believe the shot of the myxmycota (what appears to be a "slime mold") you got. That's $hit was HUUUGE! Massively gross and fascinating.

I don't think I have ever seen a place so thrashed without graffiti. Interesting. Mother Nature is beating it back to the Earth pretty quick.

Isn't it surreal when you find notes, etc. all dating back to a certain year? Its like you walked back in time. I love that. That's what dragged me into this hobby. It certainly isn't the mold. I swear I can smell the place you were in thru the photos.

Glad you found your way to UER! Thanks for sharing your adventures.

The whole "nature reclaiming manmade structures" is why I like exploring places, I'm so glad you see it too!

And actually, there wasn't really a smell :] There were gigantic holes in the walls everywhere, so it just smelled like outside. I'm sure the rainy season is responsible for all the grossness...

Thank you! Everyone has been very kind thus far ^^

Old house are one of my favorite types of explores for some reason. Two pianos is a nice touch. Welcome to UER.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

Something about the teacups scattered on the counter and the lonely crutch at the end of the hall are really poignant. Nice find and great capture of it all!

Super cool shots!

I realized that the can was punctured spray foam, eventually, after looking at it for a while, but not before wondering whether or not it was ginger root or some kind of fungus.
