| | | | Exploration of my childhood church. < on 3/6/2017 5:06 PM > | Reply with Quote
| | | I recently got permission to go through an old church which closed in 2009. Up until then I was baptized here, got my first communion and spent almost every Sunday of my childhood in this church. The guy who let me in showed me some spots upstairs (The organ area and attic) and then left me alone to go and do whatever I wanted. The altar and stained glass were immediately removed after the closure which sucked, and the only thing that was untouched was the confession booth which was creepy. Other than workers helping to clean it out and move stuff I was the only to ever be able to photograph the inside and I couldn't be more grateful to get that privilege before it is fully renovated into a circus school. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 2. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 3. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 4. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 5. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 6. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 7. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 8. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 9. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 10. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 11. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 12. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr Unlike the other two churchs in my hometown (only 1 still open) This was the only one without beams in coming down from the ceiling due to the fact it had a steel frame to support the ceiling. 13. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr 14. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr View from where the altar would have been. 15. by Maine Urbex, on Flickr
