My first post here, suggestions on formatting are definitely welcome.

A couple of friends and I were in the area and decided to stop by Hot Wells, an old resort and spa in central Texas. In it's prime, it had wealthy guests and even at one point ostrich races!

We had scouted out the area a few days prior to exploring. The Bath House had been bought by the city a few years ago, and is apparently going to be renovated for a few million dollars. The site still just sits there, however when we came back to explore it after our scout, a construction vehicle was there. The renovation may be sooner than expected. We suspect there is only so much time left here.

I'm uploaded raw, unedited photos. What could I do to make photos look better? I think some of them could use darkening, some photos are very bright, but I'm unsure of where to start.

In the first Gallery, you can see pictures from the night we scouted.

Unfortunately about half way through our project we heard voices, and I ran into someone who had their phone out. They were probably taking pictures, but it still spooked us, since this explore was on a rather shady side of town.

Was a great experience!

Cool site... you got the right idea, we like pics and a story.

Thank you, glad to be here

Is this the preferred way to post? The gallery seemed like the logical way to post a lot of pictures, but I definitely see the value in posting full sized pictures.

Thanks!

Posting a bandwidth hungry thread with "lots" of pics isn't a good idea.
Try to post only keepers or images that are of interest.

One keeper is worth more than a thousand throw aways

Yeah when I was there the mighty Rio Grand was about 12 feet wide and knee deep. It's easy to cross over, but coming back can become an issue.
You see the Mexican hombre that sells wire animals? He leaves out glass money jars and his ware.
Saw the Mariscal mercury ruins while there too.
That was one of the most eerie places I've ever been.

That's actually really scary. I have a million fears while 'splorin, and one of them is getting murked or held hostage by people in the area.

Hey thanks! I"m glad you liked the pictures. Got my camera from a pawnshop specifically to take pictures of our explorations. Good to know it was a decent purchase. Or at least, a decent start.
