Hello guys and girls. I introduced myself a bit in the main rookie area but plan to spend most my time in here.
I live in Texas, couple hours South of Houston near the coast. Not too much urbex to do in my town, rural is a little bit of a challenge with very active farming and ranching in the area.
my exploration style is a full tank of gas and no plan. Just picking a direction and trying to get lost.
Time is my handicap so my explores are not often and sometimes not as involved as I would care for. Trying to talk a friend into joining me. He is ok with driving around but hesitant to enter places.
Was out and about yesterday and found an old high school all boarded up. Back door had been forced open. Unfortunately I was ill prepared, usually have flashlight and other things in my car but yesterday did not. Too dark to walk around inside so had to settle for a couple of pictures just inside the door. Plan on returning soon, before they fix the door!
Now for the question portion. Not a how to question but a location question. I'm really curious if anyone has hit up the defunct Texas supercollider?? I found a few pictures online but nothing really extensive. From google earth it looks like it might have been repurposed and have activity these days. But I know it sat vacant for a while.
I have another area outside San Antonio that I am really interested in but am hesitant to post it, I've never seen any urbex from there.
Nothing to show right now, I'm on my phone. I'll post a couple shortly though.
Edit: Told you it would be shortly.
One is the back of the school I came across, the other is from inside. As stated I had no flashlight, and with the windows boarded up it was pitch black in there, lots of yellow jackets, spiders, wasps and other things that want to cause me pain that I do not feel like stumbling around in the dark with currently. lol
