Just went by this place. The place is all fenced off and the original POE is all boarded up, so my friend and I had to find another one. We eventually did It looks like they're prepping the place for demolition. Don't have any photos to show. But there was a homeless person and a few scrappers. One of the scrappers confirmed my suspicions that it will get demolished soon-he also said that there were a number of workers in the building the other day. I don't think this will be here much longer to be honest, go to it while you still can! Haha But I wouldn't make a huge trip to get to it. It's more a place to visit if you're in the Haystack/Unity/Freedom area. Glad I got to see it while it was still there-there was some pretty cool graffiti. There was some shit graffiti too, but it was a good trip.

I heard lots of scrappers last Saturday too, they scared off my girlfriend who didn't want to stay in after that 😁

Yeah it was pretty crazy. Surprised it got so many scrappers, especially with how toe POE got changed. But where there's a will there's a way I guess. It was dark as shit in there too haha

Let me tell you all something, as much as this location is thrashed to shit and it sucks. I found the address and location within 45 seconds of typing a business name prominently displayed in ONE OF YOUR PHOTOS into yelp.

no wonder places keep getting demolished or closed up.

rooftop photos will always give away locations....

Warning: don't get stuck on the roof. The door locks when shut! According to B&C. And if you should walk the escalators in the dark, some of the landings are open pits. Got away without major injury after finding some holes.

We were hitting this place pretty hard for a few weeks and got stuck on the roof last summer.
Did anyone find the Python?

My first time in a building with scrappers, squatters, and active taggers. I was alone and scared shitless to explore in the dark, so I didn't make it too far.

I met a couple guys on the way out who had paint all over their hands. They told me there's at least 20 people living upstairs. They offered to walk me through the building. At the time I was a little too freaked out to have run into other people, but now I'm kicking myself for not taking them up on the offer. If anyone from the forum wants to offer the same, I'd be happy to tag along!

I actually visited this place again recently with another forum member and once again we stumbled into some of the homeless living in the area. A woman told us that the residents of the building are pretty hostile towards outsiders mainly due to theft. Not like explorers would want to steal from them, but it's worth noting that in this area in particular, any exploration means you're encroaching on what they call their home.

Squatters rights. Best not to mess with people's homes.
Other little nasties might be there too, like bed bugs. One hitchhiker you don't want to take home.
