Anyone with a TV has probably seen all of the rain we've gotten in the last 24 hours. Mrs. Ulcer and I managed to get out of the neighborhood and did some disaster 'splorin. Anyone else have any cool Texas Flood Pictures?

These are all shot out in Katy near pin oak road. The roads are flooded over and we actually started to float towards the ditch! On the bright side, our 1:00 meeting was canceled where we think they are going to lay all of us off.

The heavy stuff missed us in W TX by 20 miles. Had some hail this morning, though.

As if the 500 year floods weren't enough, I was made to come into the office so I could be told that my company is closing its doors. I doubt I'll find anything else that gave the flexibility of my old job to explore. 😩

That's quite a bit of water. Last time we had a lot of rain, I drove down the road and was confused because I thought I saw the same lake twice. haha

Sorry to hear about your job, ulcer. I hope you find something that works out well for you.

It's been "raining like a sumbitch" according to the locals here.

It's been raining, fair enough...but we're not flooding up north like you guys are a little further down the way. I've actually been kind of thankful for the rain, in a way. For one, it's getting some nice tree cover growing for me in a couple of spots I want (change that: need) to check out. For another, here in Denton, there are a few houses coming down that I really want to make a quick run through and while I've been insanely busy the rain has slowed down the demolition. (anyone here in Denton/near; I'm looking at the corner of Bonnie Brae between Oak and Hickory - it looks like hell, two houses came down already, and it's super high visibility. But, I'll be damned if i don't wanna peek around...and probably won't get hassled for it, either.) Hopefully, this will keep it up long enough for me to get to it...but I doubt it.

Sucks about the job, Pep. I feel ya on the flexibility. I miss it from a former job of mine. Here's hoping you get something awesome to take it's place. I think a lot of us out here are just waiting to find that one where we get paid to explore like a land-based Jacques Cousteau.

I told Mrs Ulcer that if I could make $30k a year doing photography I would be the happiest guy on earth. She suggested I apprentice somewhere not understanding 1) you typically don't get paid as an apprentice 2) I have ZERO interest in taking photos of weddings and families in white shirts and jeans in the woods and 3) I'm a shitty photographer.

Oh well. Looks like it's back searching for another job in the horrible oilfield valve market... 😵🔫
