I wasn't sure if this was the right place to put news and info relevant to our area of the world...but if it's not, please feel free to move it. Also, if it's old news to you all, do the same. I'm still working my way through all of the info on this site and learning the ropes.
For anyone not in the know of things happening around Fort Worth and the Stockyards area, things there are going to shit (for lack of a better word). Much of the historic areas are either being torn down or are on the verge of demolition due to some negotiations by the city and some out of state developers. The whole situation is better explained by the following facebook group:
https://www.facebo...saveourstockyards/ A lot of the old familiar haunts are facing the proverbial wrecking ball, and I know that most of us here probably care more about the historic value of these places than the people who vandalize them, strip them, neglect them, or outright destroy them.
This isn't a call to action or anything, this is just me putting out the info so we can all do what we want with it. If nothing else, just be aware of what's potentially coming down or likely to be accessed differently in that area, at the very least. You may want to get in one last explore before it all becomes dust replaced with cookie-cutter urban development.
