Cool, thanks. I've learned of a couple places on PEI that aren't listed on the UER public listings that I'd like to check out once all this snow melts and it gets a bit warmer.

There's almost nothing for PEI in the listings (4 items). We'll certainly appreciate you building on it for us!

Yeah, I'm a new member. So hello y'all.

Been lurking for a few months after discovering the site not too long ago. Decided to actually join and start the process of becoming a full member. For now I'm pretty limited in what I can see or do here, but I understand the reasoning for the process. I'm going to have to get out and meet some people for starters. The posting thing (like 50+ posts) is going to be tough, as the site is pretty quiet. I don't want to talk for the sake of talking, so I won't make fluff posts. We'll see where this goes.

My main goal is to access the site info I cannot see (of course) so I can become aware about what is around the province. I'm mainly into UE because of the photography aspect of it.

I've been inactive the last 8 years or so, so I'm not aware of what's currently explorable. Mostly everything I used to explore is either demolished or been-there-done-that. The old YMCA near MicMac mall, the mental hospital in Cole Harbour, the old dead ships at Dartmouth pier (now hi-rise condos), McNab's Island, etc etc. They're keeping the city fairly "clean" in recent years. But I'm hoping there is more I simply don't know about.

My favorite photo work is by far HDR stuff. I'll attach some shots I took last year in Mexico, at an abandoned resort on the Akumal coastline, about a 45 minute walk down the beach from the resort. I'd love to do some Nova Scotia UE HDR stuff, especially add to the galleries here, but I'm going to have to become a Full Member first.

Until then, hello...

Welcome to UER! We're always happy to get more people on board in the Halifax/NS area! From what part of the province do you hail from?

Also, don't count on just getting a full-membership in this area on just posts, so don't worry about any fluff, hah. We're a little more reserved around here as there's been a lot of "hooliganism" (vandals, scrappers and general miscreants) at some of our locations .

If you're looking into meeting people, we actually have a monthly meet coming up on Sunday the 7th on June at 12:00 at the Humani-T Cafe on the corner of Agricola and Young St in the north-end of Halifax. You're more then welcome to join us! You can check the RSVP in the events section for more details. These meets happen on the first Sunday of every month, and there is always some exploring to be done on these days!

Until then, Welcome!

What she said ^

Also: welcome. If you're from afar, there's some neatish stuff to see around the city (and Dartmouth too [Darkside for locals]). You're welcome to come meet us tomorrow. Hope to see you there.

Your photos from Mexico are interesting. If you're looking for super derelict ruins like those, your best bet is to go outside HRM (HɅLIFɅX for you new-age folk) and hit up the coastal areas along the South Shore and Annapolis Valley, among other places.

Anyway, yeah, welcome.

This weekend (or more precisely saturday nite) I ended up hosting a triple-birthday bash at my house and 40+ people were over, so today looked like a write-off (as far as my condition). So timing was just bad. My place had been committed to this party thing for about a month.

Another member kindly PM'd me this morning and told me it's best to likely stay away anyway, as attendance was going to be nil this time. So maybe I dodged a bullet. Had there not been last night, I was going to go.

I'm in Cole Harbour (I thought my profile shows so, but maybe it's not public yet. Not sure). The old mental hospital was literally a 10 minute drive away from me. Used to go there often, back when it was still standing, just due to its proximity.

Will try again next month.

Good day Halifax Crew. I'm not a new member but I'm moving to Halifax End of July. Hopping to be settled in by Sept. Feel free to look at my Edmonton/Calgary and Mine stuff. I'm looking at getting to know some of the Halifax crew so we can set up some explores. I'm up for buildings, scouting and not sure if you have drains or not but up for that 2.

So, I don't know if that would count as me introducing myself to the Halifax area, but I'm actually from Montreal and I'm planning on visiting Hali in a couple weeks, and I'm just starting to browse this "others" part of UER.

I have to admit I haven't been very active on the forum all around for the past years but I still am very excited about urban exploration. I earned my "full member" status nearly 10 years ago through some members in Montreal and I'm always looking for new places to explore to this day.

I did some urbex in faraway spots in the Quebec area but I'm really excited to see what Halifax has to offer. It's kinda hard to work my way through every thread since this section includes various miscellaneous areas, but if you'd like to take me along for a trip or just want to chat about the nice spots you'd like to share, I'd be thrilled.

Here's a bunch of pictures from my previous adventures:

Thanks!

As I'm not going to be in Hali for very long, would any of you have locations I should try while I'm there, stuff that shouldn't be missed?

I'm not new to the forums or to UER perse, but I've been inactive in the forums since moving to Winnipeg last year.

I'm looking for new people/groups since I'd like to get back into it again.

Hey Guys,

Just thought I would introduce myself, I am not new to this forum nor am I new to Urbex. I have to admit, I have been somewhat intimidated by this forum but am now feeling comfortable posting. I have done some interesting exploration around the HRM as well as in Toronto where I am originally from. I would like to get involved in the scene around here, any pointers as to how to do that?

I'm an explorer from the west, enjoying some time on the east coast. Looking for an adventure crew to enjoy what time I have left out here.

Favourite types of exploration:
Draining (especially Edmonton)
Urban decay
Mountaineering
Backcountry trekking
