Just before leaving the UK, I figured I could et in one last little exploration. A friend of mine who wanted to do more exploring was in the area, so I figured why not.
As I was in the midst of packing up, she rang and I rushed out of the house, leaving behind my climbing straps. This was, in hindsight a massive mistake. On with the pictures and the reason why it was a mistake at the end...
Processing comments: As we were very much overlooked by residential properties, I decided to use a flashlight as little as possible, so these were taken with long exposures and high ISO. The art deco pool seemed to suit the high grain with being B&W, so I hope you will indulge me.

The mistake... My friend slipped and fell catching the top of the 10' high palisade fence spikes and fell, ripping her hand open. After many hours in the emergency room later, and some stitches, it turned out that she had ripped muscle and moderate nerve damage after re-visiting the doctor.
I don't always bother with aids when climbing fences, I'm generally okay without them. But I think with the straps, she would have been fine. So after this, I'm always going to bring them, especially if other people are with me.
A week later: Obviously at the time I was more interested in getting her to my car where I had a med-kit and then proper medical attention! Doesn't look too much here, but that sucker was deep.
