Driven by it a number of times and always wanted to check it out. Here's a couple pics from a recent visit.

That's a manly staircase. How high is that tower?

Definitely on my to-do list. That staircase makes the climb look like a breeze!

Just a quick errata on this.

Not abandoned, but unfinished ;)

We'll say the original project was "abandoned" due to lack of funds, as I believe no reactors were ever installed in the towers. Some of the surrounding facilities are still in use though. If we're splitting hairs, I guess we'll call this site "unfinished abandonment" ;) as the towers don't really serve any purpose that I can see.

One of the towers is actually occasionally used for something close to its original purpose- though at a much lower capacity and for natural gas instead of nuclear.

Military and other government agencies get the most use out of them, but they're also used for other cool stuff like to train workers to work in confined spaces and to train rescue workers for ropework.

The reactor buildings were mostly complete at one time, but have been partially scrapped over the years. (Still lots of neat stuff inside!)

That looks awesome! Even from the ground. If you could somehow get in and get up that burly fire escape, I'm sure some great photos could be had.

Thanks for the info about what it's used for, that's really interesting... You could do some serious rappelling inside those things. They should build a giant rock climbing wall, the tallest climbing wall in the world! They could top this thing easily, and it could all be indoor! http://www.amusing...climbing-wall.html

Update us if you get any more pics, that is exciting!

Stopping by again to let people know that a tour/mostly free range of this place can be obtained very easily. We've had a fairly big meetup there in the past and I'd like to have one again. Nobody will care if you stop by and take pictures of the towers, but please don't make any trouble for security here by going at night or attempting to climb without asking.

Wow very cool, thanks for sharing the pics
edit; The one looking up the staircase in the fog reminds me of Silent Hill 2 (the best one in the series)
edit again; I just realized that is an even more awesome staircase, since you don't keep turning the same way at each flight, it alternates to follow the curve- I get dizzy going down even the 5 flights at work, this would help. These flights are way longer though, so I guess the turns wouldn't get you dizzy anyway
