| | | Posted by Luigi Not sure if you were speaking directly to me or not but in general yes I agree with you about communicating plans openly, didn't really think I had, I don't believe there is anything on this forum really that cynical, devious or a illegal, might as well be posting about jaywalking experiences. I would hope any enforcement would use common sense and use resources far better.
| It was directed at the general readership. And generally speaking, trespassing is illegal. Especially trespassing in /on / under areas that are part of the city's infrastructure. Lurking around under the city could be interpreted in a number of ways. Read the front page of any recent newspaper for greater context. If people want to argue safety, in my case I take no chances, I make sure I know what I'm getting into before I do it, and make sure I have the proper gear. It is certainly no more dangerous and possibly less dangerous than other widely accepted pastimes rafting down a river, skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing or boating off Victoria or for that matter walking or driving down the street above, there is always unknowns/risks in every situation.
| If you're doing this solo, you're at risk. If you're doing this as a team effort, you're at risk. There are literally dozens of readily available stories...news reports...of people being asphyxiated DEAD within seconds of their feet landing on the floor of underground city works. When you go skydiving (I know this because I've done it) you sign a waiver. There is no such waiver when you trespass into city property such as the way that's been explained in these pages. So...some kid wants to explore, gets gassed, unconscious, et cetera and ends up dead. Bad news. Think about this. If vandalism's a worry to people, I would say the vast majority of people on this forum don't participate in that such activity nor do they inspire to, I certainly have no intention to vandalize anything. The few that do it's mostly a bit of graffiti in a tunnel and is not going to upset most or cause harm these tunnels usually need a little sprucing up anyway, give the city workers something to look at when they're working, if you want people doing graffiti anywhere these tunnels are the place to let them do it, may keep them from doing it above ground.
| Accessing a difficult location could well be considered vandalism, especially if access requires force. KublaKhan I appreciate all your posts on this forum over the years, I've been watching this forum for a long time and have recently been rereading the entire forum over the past while.
| Thanks. Play safe.

| I agree with most of what you're saying. I would be more than willing to sign a waiver if the city would type one up, anyone would have a very hard time convincing a judge that the city/anyone is liable for any actions described. I will "play safe".
