1.

I recently shot this picture of a fence with a crane in the background. Personally, it was one of my favorite photos from that location. I was looking for any critique on framing, focusing, and also editing. I only adjusted some contrast and brightness.

I used a Pentax K-50 with a 50mm lens: ISO 1600, 1/25, f/2.0

Thats hella sharp for 1600. Nice shot man. Next time you post try using the "quick gallery creator" at the bottom of the post text edit box. It will let you upload images at a much bigger size. Welcome to UER

To make this work you really need to focus on the crane, IMHO. Framing is nice with the super blurred sections on left and right almost looking like bokeh, but I personally would have followed the rule of thirds with the crane instead of centering the vertical section. I'm not sure what the point source lights on the crane would have looked like at f/2.0, but I understand you opened up because you were shooting handheld. Use a tripod and have much more command over the creative process.

I like through the fence shots in general and like the contrast, color, and feel of this, but it doesn't do much as a stand alone pic for me. This kind of photo is a great for rounding out a set though.

I actually think it looks more abstract the way it is...it's not a picture of a crane to me. It's focused on the fence, which to me, is a more interesting photograph.

I like it! The colors. The lighting. Good job!
