The event listing says the nominally annual get-together is happening in *looks at watch* about 45 minutes. Several folks are listed as "Yes", even though I heard through the grapevine that things are not always what they seem (and I can't find a related thread). But First Emperor Barbecue Chinese Restaurant sounds like a pretty cool spot for dinner, even if it's not a half block away from where a thin blue line on the map disappears mysteriously.

I'll be there (in a boring blue button-up shirt, khakis, and the wrong shoes for draining), and I'll report back (eventually) if anyone else shows up.

Meanwhile, I changed the monthly meetup venue to Potato Flats at Trinity Groves, because it's a place I sometimes end up on Saturdays anyway.

(Boy, I miss this place.)

I am SO gland we are going to start having Meet n' Greet again! Thank you, Robert B!

There have been some big changes to Chinatown Drain. It is still not too exciting, but better than it used to be. Had I checked uer.ca in time, I would have been there.

If anyone had shown up, it would have been pretty obvious. Or at least I would have been pretty obvious, as the only guy not speaking Chinese. Awesome food, real homestyle, not Westernized. The pork dishes included everything but the squeal - you know it's authentic when "pickled vegetable with blood braised intestines" is on the menu. I wasn't quite that adventurous... I got Kung Pao Beef, and it was mighty fine.

I drove by the drain entrance afterward. Looks sweet, wish I'd had the right shoes!

As far as the monthly meetups, I'll try to stop by the default spot whenever I can: Potato Flats at Trinity Groves. Great way to load up on starch before hitting the drains.

Hahaha. Me, too, friend. I am not a 'drainz' fan.
