First time posting! I went on a roadtrip last winter and happened upon a number of abandoned sites, this retirement home among them. I've been lurking in the forums for a bit and am only now summoning up the courage to post, so bear with me everyone. I am not a photographer, and I have not edited my pictures at all.

1. The view that made me pull over and explore.

2. Entering Wing B

3. Gutted interior

4. You're not alone.

5. Dripping red windows made it so much creepier.

6. Broken glass and reflections.

This was my first big location to find and explore on my own. But after this, I stopped and explored anything and everything I came across on the remainder of my roadtrip. I'll be sure to post some of them later as well. Thanks for letting me share.

Dude, no reason to diminish the contribution here. The photos are fine. Nothing at all wrong with them. Only thing I wish you had done differently is posted more of them. Looks like a great location, and that would have caught my eye too!

Stop lurking man, post your stuff. Nice job here. And always remember. In spite of what it may seem like with some people sometimes, UER is really not about having the most finely tuned photographs on the planet. Those kinds of photos are fine, and so are the ones made with a $49 point and shoot with no editing.

As long as you are having a good time, enjoying the location, and documenting what you see for the rest of us to share, then you are doing the all the right things. And btw, welcome to UER after being a member for more than a year. lol

Thanks for the feedback! When I post the rest of my roadtrip pictures, I'll be sure to include a few more. I have a long backlog of pictures I need to post when I can get around to it. I'm currently planning another roadtrip this winter and looking for some great cities to investigate.
