Semi-abandoned town near Paris

This town near Paris was left mostly abandoned due to a plane accident and noise pollution when Charles de Gaulle Airport was built nearby during the 1970's.

Most of the structures are decaying and uninhabited, though the population has started to grow again. The airplane noise is constant.

Sadly I didn't enter any buildings on this visit, there are a lot of dogs in this town and few of them are friendly.

Wow, I never knew about that town near CDG.
Sadly, a lot of french countryside towns look like that (minus the graffitis).

Really? I'm surprised. I haven't noticed that, in the area around Paris at least.

More photos below. This is the deserted chateau; the property it stood on is now basically a park.

I don't think it's a lot like that around Paris, but there is a small town near Bordeaux where some of my friends' parents live, and half of the old apartments and houses downtown are for sale or abandoned. People don't want to live in these small countryside villages anymore.

Tempting to just try and move in. Or buy one of those houses for basically nothing.

Edited to add: preferably one with a roof!

Love the last grouping of photos you have here. Always wanted to visit the small villages in and around Paris. I really appreciate the shots you got to take. Put some dog treats in your pocket and try for the interior of that Chateau! It looks amazing!

Wow that's amazing!
It's a shame you could not get inside because of the dogs, I would have loved to see some pictures
