Hey guys! I'm pretty new here to the UER, and so the last 2 days I decided to visit all my favorite hotspots and take a few photos in each location. Oddly enough my favorite location, the grain mill here, is the one i have the least of. But for the future i will have more for that one.
So I'll start with the grainary.
Upon arriving at the destination i was surprised to see it completely lit up. This happens about once a month when they go in to distribute bad feed. (probably to appease the rats and keep them away from the rest of the factory maybe?)The rest of the time it's pitch black in there. So i got some unique shots.

while taking this photo, a worker walked right past that corner down there, and nearly gave me a heart attack. But the picture was already taken and i just slipped away before he noticed me

I know this one is grainy, but i couldn't bring the tripod with me climbing up the side of the neighboring ice factory, and it was pitch black. but i wanted you to be able to see the scale of this thing. I've been through every inch of this place and it truly is a fortress. I'll post more photos of the old parts of the factory in the future, but that night i wasn't getting much with the workers using the belt-o-vator.

Next is an apartment complex that has been abandoned since 2006. I lived in a tent on the roof here when i was homeless for a few months. The lengthy roof top access allowed for a perfect base which i could feel confident in escaping should the need arrive.

The middle roof there is where my tent was. Also pool chairs. Many a naked tan sesh was had here.

This is the Dowell. A building with a LOT of history in greenville, and very near to my heart. It's named after the late owner Cam F. Dowell who was an important banker in Texas. He stored his family stuff here. This is the 2nd story which is only accessible via the street as opposed to the floor below. The floor below is a tax office which is still in use owned by a company started by a friend of Mr. Dowell who passed away 50 years ago.

The trunks in this room hold thousands of photos, letters, and pictures from the early 1900's and a few late 1800's. There are also countless paintings made by Cam F. Dowells son who now currently resides in Dallas, living in a multi million dollar mansion which was featured in the Dallas morning news. I presume he has forgotten of this building long ago.
Unfortunately many of the pictures i took here of the photos and artifacts were not in focus, so i'll have to go back to take more in the future.
Also it appears that someone has found access to this beautiful place since the last time i was here and started rifling through the photos and leaving them haphazard on the floor. Very saddening to me. It sickens me to think someone would be anything less than reverent in this place.
