Hey guys! 'nother 'splore for ya today! I was actually reminded of this place by Liquorhead a few days ago, and decided to check it out since i've never even taken a second glance at the place.

So without further ado...

As I entered the building I was immediately taken aback by the stillness and pristine cleanliness of the place. I stood at the side of the hallway holding my breath and searching all the corners for signs of PIRS and cameras.

After waiting a minute or so i heard a single *BEEP!* echoing down the hall coming from the nursing station. I was afraid it might be a security system so i did the only thing i could do to be sure. I waved my hand in front of the PIR above the nearest door jam. Nothing. So this hallway was safe at least. Besides the beeps were echoing from elsewhere. I continued on through the hall peering into the rooms.

Upon clearing this hall i slowly walked towards the source of the beeping which was a large room at the end of the hall. I realized this was the center of the building and all other halls started at this point and went out like the legs from the body of a spider. A nurse station took the center of the room. There is a pano (my first) from inside the station on my flickr.

I soon realized that the beeps were actually coming from hall 1 (zone 3 on map) and so i was now free to explore every other hall and room!

I soon realized there were precise holes in almost every room and wall, strategically placed where copper pipes and wiring was. Holes like these scattered the place, but they were so precise and in such random locations I can't help but acknowledge the fact that whoever scrapped this place knew their craft well.

And finally this classic wheelchair shot. I swear i didn't move it at all lol. but i admit after i took the shot i rode some sweet wheelies up and down the hall. Tell me if the HDR is too much

After exploring everything else I decided to find the source of the beeping and after an incredibly tense walk down a dark hallway it turned out it was a smoke detector lol.

Upon leaving the building i headed towards the front only to have my stomach drop at the sight of a VERY close police car parked out front. I was behind that tree right of the car next to the building. I quickly backtracked hoping he hadn't seen me and dropped all contraband and popped out my sd cards. I went all the way around the building to the opposite side only to realize.... He wasn't there for me! he was just radar checking for speeding! i went out front feeling ballsy and took this

I then went back and grabbed my stuff and left a happy man.

I like the tub lighting. It is well kept, indeed.

Awesome set! There is a nursing home here in my town that has been empty for a few years. I was just scoping it out a couple days ago, but I think it sold recently so the alarm system has me spooked. You came across a gem with this one

Very nicely done!!

Yeah, the sound of a dying smoke detector alarm can be quite.. alarming.. I still get freaked out when I hear them. Good on ya for being cautious about it though. This place looks pretty cool!

Really nice set!

It seems that this 6 hallway nexus style nursing center is quite common. There used to be a recently abandoned one near where I live, but it was torn down a few months ago. Set off the alarms in that one, and had to make a quick escape. I've seen a couple other lookalikes while browsing Google Maps.

There's a nursing home down here (still open) that has a nearly identical layout. Can't say I blame them for using that design a lot, it looks good.

Haha, I encountered the smoke detector beep not too long ago in an old school. It creeped me out pretty good at first. I was not at rest until 100% sure that is was a smoke detector and nothing else.
Anyways, great pics and even greater find! Very interesting how pristine the walls and floors are...

Wildly agree re: the smoke detector thing, and so glad not to have been alone in that because jumping every time that thing went off in the place we heard it in made me feel like a giant wuss.

I love your photos. This place looks fascinating. The cleanliness of it would have creeped me right the hell out though. Wugh.

Wow....what an awesome find !!

I know that tense feeling when hearing beeping and unsure of what it is...years ago heard the same thing at Camp 30...it too turned out to be a smoke detector with dying batteries

I paid $1500 for a good new wheelchair with a gel cushion seat. In Washington the state is required to supply wheelchairs to nursing home residents who can't afford them. Most of the state wheelchairs are dreadful clunkers that have no leg rests and bad brakes. I'm surprised to see something so portable and possibly valuable abandoned.
