Niagara Falls, Canada has always held the self-proclaimed title of the Honeymoon Capital of the World. Those of us who live here doubt that to be true whenever we look at the statue of Frankenstein holding a Burger King Whopper just up from the Falls, or see tourists pay more for parking at the Falls than they do to park at Disney's Magic Kingdom for an entire day. Everything here is about bigger, louder, and tackier.




With over 200 hotels in a city of only 84,000 people, you can imagine what it is like to compete in the hospitality industry. Any small hotel occupying prime real estate is being bought out to build towering monoliths all competing for in-room aerial views of the Falls.

The "Inn on the Parkway" is one such place. Bought out in 2007, the hotel has sat vacant and decaying virtually on the shore of the Niagara River. Dialling the old phone number now routes the call through to something called the Niagara Hotel Group. One can only wonder what plan they have for this location's real estate once the wrecking ball approaches.

Gangs of lamps make me feel uneasy for some reason.. Regardless, great work! Also, that Frankenstein is most definitely ridiculous.

I saw another photographer's set from this place just yesterday, new POE perhaps? The location's been known for a while.

Yeah, those lamps kind of freak me out. I can imagine turning my back, hearing a bunch of scraping, looking again, and they've all moved forwards... This was a beautiful set of pictures, thank you!

I've been sitting on these for a while. Only thought to post them today because I caught that sunrise shot over the building and finally put the set together. I did a walkthrough of the property too and unfortunately they've really boarded it up good since I was inside. Won't take long though, as the youth in this area seem to have gravitated to the place. SPADES! Yah!!!

Very nice! This place is adorable and even though the furniture is kinda creepily placed, I have to admit I feel like the teacups would make me laugh. Although, to be honest, if I were there I feel like I would have tripped on them and scared the shit out of myself with the noise.
