While I was out searching for a tower that used to be used to practice climbing and rappelling, but has long since grown over with vegetation, I stumbled across this house out in the middle of nowhere by itself.

One room was full of children's clothing and toys. Kinda weird.

These dolls creep me the hell out

Looks like someone poo'd by the toys.

Thought about getting me a new camera

Holy moly

So many phones

So many tapes

These were hanging in the shed

I got sidetracked once I found this place and spent too much time in here and the shed and barn. It got too dark on me for me to continue on and find the tower. But once I find it I want to get some photos of it also.

I didnt show them but I have pics of the kitchen floor covered completely in random shit and the other rooms, they all have all sorts of neat shit.

Me too, Dan.

Great find! Some of those toys look familiar, like the See 'n Say and the Fisher-Price vacuum (or what's left of it).

I've never heard of the Time brand of cameras before.

I agree with both of you, I love running into places like this. Needless to say I wasn't necessarily disappointed that I didn't find the tower yesterday, I'm alright with this house.

I called it that because I went out and was wandering through a bunch of vegetation to find this old rappelling tower and I stumbled onto this house by mistake.

By the way, the see n say actually still worked haha I tried it. And my cousin told me that those cameras were part of a Time magazine promotion or something. I don't know, but that's what he says.

Lie rather still because this is the first time I've used this equipment.

Very cool find! I, too, geek out when I discover a property that still has stuff in it. The contents of an abandonment often tell many nuanced stories about the previous occupants. But castoff children's toys always make me feel depressed for some reason. I've probably seen Toy Story 3 too many times...

Neat find.
The "Time" Camera was a promotional gift for buying a one year subscription. It was such a bit hit, that many other companies started doing their own cameras as well. Although the Time camera was one of the best free cameras offered, it still opened a new book into marketing techniques.

That's wild, my cousin is one of those guys that tends to make stuff up to seem smart. I'll be damned if he didn't actually have some correct info this time.

Thanks for the info Ghost

That's so weird about the see 'n say. It does look like it's in good condition. When its batteries start running low, it is the creepiest-sounding thing ever.

I wondered if it was a Time magazine promotion, as the Time logo on the camera is similar.

I think you should rename this place the "Happy Mistake House" because it turned out to be so cool.

Don't worry about it. I have a cousin the same way. I think most of us do. LOL

That was one of the newer See-N-Seys. the older ones did not use batteries, and many of them are still working. I remember having one when I was a little one many, many moons ago. LOL I think it lasted till my middle brother was a tot, that is why I remembered it. Well into the seventies.

Ya know, kinda strange about that see n say, it really was in good shape. Like still clean and not caked with dust. It's weird how some stuff just ages better.

Cool find! Those cassettes looks exactly like the ones we used to cart commercials and newscasts on at the radio station I worked at back in the early '90's. Might have been some interesting stuff on those. Brought back a whole lot of memories if nothing else. Thanks!

Aren't you tempted to bring a tape player (if you can even find one anymore) and see what's on some of those tapes?

Truthfully I've given it some thought but I'm not too sure if the tapes haven't seen too much damage from being out in the open. If I do I'll update ya as to their contents
